A Musical Odyssey

Elaia consists of fourteen compositions for violin, cello, and piano. Attractive melodies in a timeless idiom. Harmonious, inviting, and layered. Music that moves as classical music always has – yet sounds refreshingly new.

Elaia consoles, enchants, and transports – music that carries you into dreams, memories, deeper waters, and then back home again.

The Composer

Amir Swaab previously wrote songs and film music. His melodies have been heard in football stadiums, theaters, and around campfires. Ultimately, however, his musical journey led him back to where it all began: classical music. “In the language of classical music, I can tell stories that go deeper than other styles allow.” Out of the longing for the music he himself wished to hear came Elaia: personal compositions in which the richness of tradition merges with the present.

The Performers

The music is brought to life by Merel Vercammen (violin), Hadewych van Gent (cello), and Mattias Spee (piano) – three musicians who combine virtuosity with an independent artistic course. Together they weave color, imagination, and poetry through these musical narratives: from the wonder of wandering to the warmth of coming home.
